Bizarrely few stocks made up the lion’s share of returns in the last century, and the pool of superstar companies may be shrinking.

If you feel it is tough to make money from the stock market unless you pick the right stock, you are probably spot on.

A recent study by American finance professor Hendrik Bessembinder showed that not only do bizarrely few stocks make up the lion’s share of returns in the last century, but also that the pool of superstar companies may be shrinking.
