Study plans for the surrounding area, not just the estate itself, says property agent Jodia Tay

Real estate agent Jodia Tay's love affair with property began in 2007 when she bought her first apartment - a 570 sq ft freehold unit - at the age of 29, when she was a marketing manager at Singtel mioTV.

With her annual bonus, she put a 10 per cent down payment for the off-the-plan $512,000 one-bedroom condo unit at Montebleu in Novena, buying it in her parent's name. This was because her HDB flat had not reached the minimum occupation period.
