Is this stock market rally for real? Factors still unclear

Expect a bumpy ride - economic and political uncertainties ahead

It was not too long ago that the global outlook seemed bleak as tighter monetary policy and recession fears gripped stock markets, causing global equities to plunge almost 20 per cent in a matter of just three months in the run-up to Christmas last year.

Since then, the stock markets have surprised investors by staging a strong rebound as global equities rallied 20 per cent since Christmas and about 15 per cent so far this year.
