Changes for AIA S'pore top execs

AIA Singapore chief executive Tan Hak Leh will assume a new role in Hong Kong next month, said the insurer last Friday. He has been promoted to group chief risk officer for AIA Group and will be a member of the group executive committee too.

Taking over from Mr Tan, 49, as AIA Singapore chief executive on Sept 1 will be Mr Patrick Teow, 52, who joined AIA in 2013 as chief executive of its group agency distribution business.

Regional chief executive Ng Keng Hooi said: "Since joining AIA Singapore in June 2011, Hak Leh has done a fantastic job in leading AIA's successful growth in Singapore and further enhancing its reputation in the market."

He gave his "deepest thanks to Hak Leh for his leadership, hard work and his tremendous contributions to AIA Singapore".

Mr Teow is also an industry veteran with more than 30 years' experience in the life insurance industry. His previous roles include regional chief agency officer at Prudential.

Mr Ng said Mr Teow's work has helped AIA become the No. 1 company in the world for Million Dollar Round Table - an elite club consisting of top life insurance agents - qualifiers. It is an achievement that shows the professionalism and productivity of AIA's agency force, he added.
