SINGAPORE - When Certis vice-president Jackie Ong first joined the security industry as an officer commanding 18 years ago, security officers had to sign notebooks along their patrol routes to check in. 

Now, they have handheld devices tracking their location, making it easy for supervisors in the command centre to dispatch the nearest officer to the site of an incident.
