GET-Up and go: New programme to help companies raise productivity by 20%

THE Technology Adoption Programme (TAP) will help participating companies raise productivity by an average of 20 per cent over the next three years, said Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry Mr S Iswaran.

Announced during the Budget debate in February, the TAP will help companies implement more than 1,000 technology adoptions over the next three years.

The $51 million programme, which kicks off in July, will connect companies to appropriate vendors in the public and private sectors, using a team of intermediaries with industry experience.

The programme will be piloted in the construction, food manufacturing, precision engineering, marine, aerospace and retail sectors.

Mr Iswaran was speaking at the 10th anniversary celebration of the Growing Enterprises through Technology Upgrade (GET-Up) programme, held on May 14 at Resorts World Convention Centre.

Since its launch in 2003, 400 companies from the electronics, infocomm, chemical and biomedical science sectors have taken part in the programme.
