Financial markets wrestle with ‘higher for longer’ interest rates

SINGAPORE - Rising producer prices, tight labour market, strong retail sales, fears of a “not-so-soft” landing amid hawkish comments by US Federal Reserve officials provided a heady brew of news flows for the market to digest.

But remarkably enough, the financial markets did hold up, somewhat.
