At a factory in Tuas, company manager Michael is seeing his inventory of raw materials for the production of semiconductor chips pile up.

"Semiconductor production is practically dead. I have three times the inventory that I need," said Michael, who was using a pseudonym because he was not authorised by his company to speak publicly.
