Tharman to attend G-20 meet in Chengdu

Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will be attending the Group of 20 (G-20) finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in Chengdu, China, today and tomorrow.

The G-20 meeting will discuss policies to enhance economic resilience amid new global uncertainties.

Mr Tharman will also be a speaker at the G-20 high level tax symposium today, the Ministry of Finance said. The symposium will cover the design of tax policies to support innovation-driven and inclusive growth, and to enhance tax certainty for businesses in the digital economy.

Mr Tharman will be accompanied by officials from Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
