ASPIRING treasury and markets professionals can now apply for a dedicated certificate programme by DBS Bank.

The bank announced the launch on Wednesday of the DBS-SMU Professional Certificate in Treasury & Markets programme, a tie up with the Financial Training Institute at the Singapore Management University.

DBS said that there has been a growing demand for those equipped with skills in the areas of trading, corporate treasury advisory and risk management, hence the need for such a programme.

The DBS-SMU Professional Certificate in Treasury & Markets programme aims to certify 50 trading and corporate advisory professionals over time.

Mr Andrew Ng, Head of Treasury & Markets at DBS, said: "DBS is the first bank in Singapore to provide our people with a well-structured and highly-regarded platform to hone their treasury competencies, and better serve our customers."
