Singapore-listed shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) announced today that it has secured 18 orders worth US$815 million (S$1.03 billion).
The new orders include two 82,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT) bulk carriers, one 208,000 DWT bulk carrier, and eleven new orders for 82,000 DWT bulk carriers.
Other orders are four 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEUs) containerships, that were converted from existing options.
These new contracts are scheduled for deliveries in 2015 to 2017.
Yangzijiang Shipbuilding said these will not have any significant impact on the earnings of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2014.
The group has secured twenty-six effective shipbuilding contracts, with an aggregate value of US$1.07 billion, for the year to date ending April 2.
