SINGAPORE - Intel Corp and two other multinational companies were recognised today for their efforts in driving technological innovation through partnership with 80 local small and medium-size enterprises.

Intel, National Instruments and NXP Semiconductors will work with local SMEs to oversee several projects supported by Spring Singapore's Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT) initiative, Spring said.

These projects focus on emerging areas in electronics such as Machine to Machine solutions, smart lighting and near field communications.

National Instruments and NXP will each appoint one manager, and Intel will appoint two to oversee these projects.

Through the partnerships, the SMEs will have access to National Instruments' global alliance partner network and Intel's Galileo University programme. The global exposure and contacts can help SMEs enter new markets and raise their international profile, Spring said.
