Singapore stocks open higher on Monday; STI up 0.4%

SINGAPORE - Local share prices opened higher on Monday (Jan 29) with the Straits Times Index up 13.51 points to 3,580.65 as at 9.01am.

This comes on the back of Wall Street's record closes at the end of trading last week.

Volume was 38.4 million shares worth S$50 million.

Gainers outnumbered losers 88 to 27.

The most actively traded counters include Singtel, which was up two Singapore cents to S$3.62, with 2.4 million shares changing hands; and Midas, which was up 0.1 cent to 17 Singapore cents, with 2.17 million shares traded.
