SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened lower on Monday (Aug 24), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,911.23 in early trade, down 2.01 per cent, or 59.78 points.
Around 45.1 million shares exchanged hands.
Losers beat gainers 198 to 6.
