Singapore shares open 1.47% higher on Monday

SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,834.27 in early trade, up 1.47 per cent, or 41.12 points.

SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Monday (Oct 5), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,834.27 in early trade, up 1.47 per cent, or 41.12 points.

Around 115.9 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 124 to 43.
