SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,982.76 in early trade, up 1.27 per cent, or 37.33 points.
Around 111.7 million shares exchanged hands.
Gainers beat losers 168 to 17.
