SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened lower on Friday (Jan 8), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,699.38 in early trade, down 1.12 per cent, or 30.53 points.
Around 70.8 million shares exchanged hands.
Losers beat gainers 104 to 35.
