SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Monday (August 8), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,851.68 in early trade, up 0.83 per cent, or 23.51 points.
Around 40.1 million shares exchanged hands.
Gainers beat losers 97 to 41.
