SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 3,056.28 in early trade, up 0.21 per cent, or 6.63 points.

Around 40.4 million shares exchanged hands.

Losers beat gainers 67 to 55.
