SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened lower on Wednesday (August 31), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,823.29 in early trade, up 0.18 per cent, or 5.1 points.
Around 50.8 million shares exchanged hands.
Gainers beat losers 53 to 47.
