1 Asian investors were nervous ahead of a closely watched United States report, which turned out to be worse than expected, setting the stage for the US market to end the week on a weak note.

2 The US$80 billion (S$113.3 billion) Bridgewater All Weather Fund, managed by hedge fund titan Ray Dalio, lost 4.2 per cent in August alone, posting a year-to-date return of negative 3.76 per cent, Reuters reported.

3 Cosco Singapore said the arbitration tribunal reviewing the case of the drillship contract between its Dalian shipyard and shipowner Dalian Deepwater Development judged that Cosco Dalian is not liable to the shipowner for further liabilities.

4 NauticAWT, which recently listed on Catalist, said that it may make a loss for the first half ended June 30 because of substantial one-off professional fees related to its initial public offering and losses suffered by certain subsidiaries.

5 The interim judicial managers of CNA Group have been negotiating with project owners, subcontractors, suppliers and potential investors ahead of a hearing on the case on Sept 14.
