Market highlights

1 Oil stayed around its lowest level in a month as investors ditched bullish bets on another price rise and hopes that top exporters will rein in production to ease the supply glut, Reuters said.


2 Consumer stocks in the Straits Times Index averaged a 10.6 per cent total return in the first quarter, bringing the average one-year total return to a marginal 0.8 per cent decline, an SGX report said.


3 There were 49.3 million shares repurchased by 33 firms last month for $68.3 million. This compared with $37.9 million this February, and $164.8 million in March last year. OCBC and M1 were among companies buying back shares.


4 Keppel Corp said a Keppel Land unit has sold 70 per cent of the capital of Quang Ba Royal Park Joint Venture Company for around $30.4 million. The firm owns and operates a serviced apartment in Hanoi.


5 Croesus Reit has issued $60 million worth of bonds. The tenure is four years with a coupon rate of 5 per cent.
