Market highlights

  1. Jumbo Group has entered into a joint venture agreement with the Beijing Hualian Group to open its first Jumbo Seafood restaurant in Beijing, China. The restaurant is scheduled to open by the third quarter.
  2. Sincap Group said it had received a letter of demand from lawyers acting for Fu Hao, claiming a payment of about 6.8 million yuan (S$1.4 million). The company is assessing the merits of the claims and will take appropriate action.
  3. Cosco Corporation (Singapore) said Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard, a subsidiary of the company's 51 per cent-owned Cosco Shipyard Group, has delivered an oil tanker to its Singaporean buyer.
  4. MM2 Asia said a preliminary offer document on the proposed spin-off of its unit, UnUsUaL, was lodged yesterday with the Singapore Exchange.
  5. CNMC Goldmine Holdings has offered to acquire full control of a company in Kelantan, Malaysia, with the rights to explore gold, iron ore and other minerals. It will pay RM2.5 million (S$790,000) in cash for KelGold Mining.
