Market highlights

1 Gold is back to the US$1,315 an ounce levels seen after Brexit. The SGX's three largest gold mining stocks averaged a total return of 29.3 per cent - against the Straits Times Index's total return of 7.1 per cent.

2 Cogent Holdings said its master tenancy at Turf City, which will expire on Feb 28, 2018, has been extended to Dec 31, 2020 by the Singapore Land Authority.

3 Lithuania's Supreme Court has allowed Food Empire to use its MacCoffee 3 in 1 brand despite objections by fast-food chain McDonald's.The judges found that the brand was not "confusingly similar" to McDonald's McCafe.

4 Yoma Strategic said it has signed two new master leases for its landmark development in Yangon. The planned gross floor area is 15 per cent larger. Completion is targeted for 2020.

5 Wilmar International bought back 200,100 of its shares at $3.05 apiece. It paid $611,219 in total.
