Local stocks hit by fear of extended trade row

Trade risks remain investors' key worry as they prepare for long-drawn dispute

Local shares paid the price yesterday as investors braced themselves for a protracted trade row between Washington and the rest of the world.

The Straits Times Index (STI) closed neatly on 3,300 after declining 15.9 points, or 0.48 per cent, while losers beat gainers 250 to 147.
