SINGAPORE - KLA-Tencor Corporation officially opened its Advanced Packaging Development Centre located at Serangoon North on Wednesday (Nov 18).
The centre houses development, testing and electronics labs as well as cleanroom space. It will enable KLA-Tencor to better support Asia customers who purchase its equipment. KLA-Tencor said it plans to increase resources invested in the development centre in the coming years.
"Over the past few years, customers throughout Asia have experienced an increased need for improved inspection and yield for advanced wafer-level packaging processes," said Ms Lena Nicolaides, vice-president of Laser Scanning and Swift Products of KLA-Tencor.
"The centre is proof of our commitment to collaborating with our customers to help them ramp their packaging processes more quickly," she said.
Mr Chang Chin Nam, executive director of Precision Engineering at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), attended the opening ceremony.
