Group CEO of Great Eastern steps down; insurer begins search for new chief

Group chief executive and executive director of Great Eastern Holdings Christopher Wei has stepped down.

Mr Wei, 46, is leaving to take up an appointment with another multinational company.

His last day with the company will be Sept 30.

The insurer has started searching for a new group chief executive and will make an announcement as soon as the candidate has been selected, it said in a statement released on Thursday.

The company's chairman, Mr Norman Ip, will assume an executive role and oversight during the leadership transition.
