Tight natural gas supply will have a severe impact on the production of fertilisers and mineral nutrients required for food production globally through next year.
In an interview with The Straits Times, Norwegian fertiliser giant Yara International's executive vice-president for Africa and Asia, Ms Fernanda Lopes Larsen, said about 80 per cent of fertiliser production is dependent on natural gas.
