SINGAPORE - Creative Technology announced in a pre-market filing on Tuesday (Oct 3) that its wholly-owned subsidiary ZiiLabs Inc has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the United States against Nvidia Corporation.
The ZiiLabs patent portfolio contains patents in the graphics, processor and 3D spaces. Four of these patents have been asserted in the lawsuit, in which ZiiLabs is claiming damages for patent infringement.
Creative had previously announced that Intel, Apple and Samsung had each taken a non-exclusive licence to ZiiLabs' patent portfolio. On July 8, Creative had also made an announcement regarding the settlement of certain other US patent lawsuits involving patents in the ZiiLabs patent portfolio.
