Singapore Technologies Electronics (ST Electronics) said its unit, Telematics Wireless, has been awarded a contract worth US$72 million (S$95 million) for the supply of a smart sensor network to Israeli wireless automatic meter manufacturer Arad Technologies.

Under the contract, Telematics Wireless will supply automatic meter reading (AMR) radio transceivers for Arad's AMR solutions over six years.

The AMR radio transceivers supplied through this contract will be deployed with Arad's AMR solutions in various global markets, and together with Arad's smart management software, will provide precise monitoring of all utility vital signs, and will alert utility providers to faults such as leakages.

ST Electronics, a unit of mainboard-listed ST Engineering, said its AMR radio transceivers are able to operate up to 10 years on an internal battery, and are resistant to radio interference.


Lum Chang

Lum Chang unit Lum Chang Building Contractors has won a tender for the construction of PSA Singapore's corporate headquarters.

The contract, valued at $136.9 million, will involve building a new 20-storey Class A office tower and an adjacent four-storey block with recreational amenities, as well as addition and alteration works at the existing Pasir Panjang Terminal Building 3.

The contract period for the development is 26 months.

Earnings from the contract will be recognised progressively according to the stages of completion.


Ley Choon Group Holdings

Ley Choon Group Holdings said subsidiary Teacly (S) has successfully secured contracts worth some $6 million for the supply and laying of NEWater mains from Singapore's national water agency PUB.


Spackman Entertainment Group

Spackman Entertainment Group said top-tier South Korean actress Son Ye Jin, represented under Spackman's associated company, Spackman Media Group, is set to star in an upcoming Korean drama, Pretty Sister Who Buys Me Food.

This marks the return of movie actress Son to television after a five-year hiatus.
