SINGAPORE - The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore has appointed Rajah & Tann Singapore as its legal adviser.

This is the first time that the PRC Embassy in Singapore has formally appointed a legal adviser, Rajah & Tann said in a press release on Friday (March 18).

The law firm will advise the PRC Embassy at its request on the legal matters related to the embassy, Chinese citizens and companies.

The appointment comes on the back of growing bilateral trade and investments between Singapore and China, and increased visits and exchanges between the people of the two countries, Rajah & Tann noted.

Said its managing partner Lee Eng Beng: "Our strong knowledge and familiarity with the Chinese practice and culture, as well as diverse areas of practices across a range of jurisdictions, including Singapore and South East Asia, put us in good stead to advise the Chinese as they expand their businesses and presence in the region."
