ST Engineering to play bigger support role in rail ops but doesn't see itself taking over rail maintenance

ST Engineering does not see itself taking over rail maintenance work in Singapore, even as it plays a bigger role to support SMRT and SBS Transit.

Mr Vincent Chong, president and chief executive of the defence and technology firm, told The Straits Times last week: "The rail system is complex; systems of systems. So while there may be domains that we are well suited to support, there may also be those that we are not... So I don't think we can make an overarching statement to say that we are able to take on everything.
