Acra appoints new board members

SINGAPORE - Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat appointed three new members to the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (Acra) board.

The Ministry of Finance said on March 13 the three new board members are Ms Ameera Ashraf, WongPartnership's head of competition and regulatory practice, Mr Lee Wai Fai, United Overseas Bank's group chief financial officer; Mr Ong Khiaw Hong chief executive designate of the Acra board.

The appointments become effective on April 1.

Mr Heng also reappointed three board members: Singapore Business Federation chief executive Ho Meng Kit, Mr Lee Boon Ngiap, assistant managing director of capital markets group at Monetary Authority of Singapore; Professor Tan Cheng Han, professor of law at the National University of Singapore's law faculty.

The ministry and the board also expressed appreciation to retiring members, who are Professor Ho Yew Kee, Mr Kenneth Yap and Mr Yap Chee Keong.
