SINGAPORE - Changes have been made to the boards of the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) and JTC Corporation (JTC), said the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) on Friday.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Communications and Information, Mr Aubeck Kam, will be the new chairman of CCS, replacing Mr Lam Chuan Leong.

Veteran civil servant Mr Lam, who served in the Administrative Service for 35 years, is stepping down after 10 years at the helm of CCS.

Mr Kam is a current board member of CCS.

He will have two new members on the board after Senior Counsel Aedit Abdullah, who resigned on Nov 11 following his appointment as a Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court.

Joining the CCS board are Mr Andrew Tan, the chief executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and Chief Prosecutor Mavis Chionh from the Attorney-General's Chambers.

MTI has re-appointed Raffles Medical Group executive chairman Loo Choon Yong as JTC's chairman, while three other board members have been re-appointed.

The three re-appointed JTC members are: former KPMG managing partner Danny Teoh, deputy managing partner of Wong Partnership Tan Chee Meng and Deputy Secretary for the Manpower Ministry Augustin Lee.

The JTC board will see three new members, namely, former CapitaLand deputy CEO Olivier Lim, HSBC Singapore CEO Guy Harvey-Samuel and Urban Redevelopment Authority CEO Ng Lang.

Mrs Ong Choon Fah, DTZ's South-east Asia chief operating officer, is stepping down as a member of the JTC board.

Four board members of the Singapore Tourism Board have also been re-appointed.

They are: Sentosa Development Corporation CEO Mike Barclay, PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore assurance partner Deborah Ong, Microsoft Operations managing director Jessica Tan and Allen & Gledhill partner Christina Ong.

All the appointments will take effect on Jan 1.
