Change of tack likely with 'Netflix tax'

Shift in how digital services are taxed will likely nudge consumers towards adjusting lifestyles too

Like me, you may have been expecting - even bracing yourself for - an e-commerce tax in February's Budget; lawmakers' previous comments seemed to hint at such a prospect.

Consumers were anticipating that the goods and services tax (GST) would be extended to online shopping, which historically has been untaxed on items costing up to $400.
