British home appliance maker Dyson's abrupt move to scrap a £2.5 billion (S$4.4 billion) electric car project - including a Singapore plant that was to have rolled out its model by 2021 - is a setback, some analysts say.

But they believe it will not tarnish Singapore's allure as a base for manufacturing and services.
