Singapore consumer prices down 0.6% in Sept, but core inflation up on pricier services and retail items

The negative headline inflation which Singapore has experienced since November last year is showing no signs of letting up. However, core inflation, which is seen as a better gauge of everyday household expenditures,rose slightly as services and retail products became pricier.

HDB resale prices slip 0.3% in Q3, smallest quarterly price drop in 9 quarters

HDB prices slipped again in the third quarter, but the decline was more muted this time around. HDB resale prices fell 0.3 per cent for the quarter, according to HDB data released on Friday (Oct 23). It was similar to HDB's flash estimates released earlier this month.

Ezra hit by US$7.8m loss from discontinued operations in Q4

Losses from discontinued operations in the subsea services business has dragged Ezra Holdings into the red in the fourth quarter. Keppel says may face Brazil corruption probe

Oil rig builder Keppel Corp said it may face an investigation into deals with Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras and rig builder Sete Brasil. A Brazilian parliamentary commission of inquiry backed further investigations into 10 companies it identified as involved in transactions with Petrobras and Sete, including a Keppel FELS Brasil unit, Keppel said in a statement late on Thursday (Oct 22).

China home prices rise 0.3% in September from August, 5th month of gains

Average new home prices in China rose for the fifth month in a row in September, increasing 0.3 per cent from August, according to Reuters calculations from official data published on Friday.
