Aviva Singapore sales up 49 per cent to $301 million for 2014

SINGAPORE - Insurer Aviva Singapore posted stronger results for the year ended Dec 31, thanks to better sales across the firm's key product offerings.

Sales for the twelve months to Dec 31, measured by annual premium equivalent, grew 49 per cent from the same period a year ago to $301 million, said the firm on Monday.

This was driven by stronger sales from its bancassurance relationship with DBS Bank, with sales from this channel up 80 per cent in the same period.

Sales from its financial advisory services were up 36 per cent, while the firm continued to keep its leading position as the insurer of 850,000 employees.

Aviva's unit trust platform also posted a 3 per cent increase in sales to $306 million.

"Being a large global composite insurer, Aviva has a comprehensive suite of products and is fully-equipped to meet the diverse needs of today's customers," said Mr Nishit Majmudar, chief executive of Aviva Singapore.
