Australia central bank holds main interest rate at 2.75%

SYDNEY (REUTERS) - Australia's central bank kept its main cash rate steady at a record low of 2.75 per cent on Tuesday, a widely expected decision given that it last eased policy just a month ago.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) made the announcement following its monthly policy meeting. The vast majority of analysts had felt the RBA would hold rates this week, though many still expect a further easing in coming months.
