Singapore’s Best Employers 2026

Singapore’s Best Employers 2026 is a large-scale and comprehensive study that assesses the attractiveness of employers in Singapore through an independent employee survey. Tens of thousands of evaluations, the opinions of thousands of employees and the scores for hundreds of companies were taken into account. Awards were given to the 250 highest-scoring employers in 2026.

Methodology

Any company with at least 200 staff is eligible for ranking in the study. Global data company Statista pre-researched an initial list of more than 2,000 employers using industry lists, employer databases and desk research. To capture other eligible businesses that were not part of the initial list, the question asking respondents for the name of their employer was an open-ended one.

Employers were placed under the following 27 industries:

  1. Construction
  2. Oil & Gas Operations, Mining and Chemicals
  3. Utilities
  4. Engineering, Manufacturing
  5. Automotive (Automotive & Supplies)
  6. Aerospace & Defence
  7. Drugs & Biotechnology
  8. Semiconductors, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology Hardware & Equipment
  9. Healthcare Equipment & Services
  10. Packaged Goods
  11. Food, Soft Beverages, Alcohol & Tobacco
  12. Transportation & Logistics
  13. Banking & Financial Services
  14. Insurance
  15. Telecommunications Services, Cable Suppliers
  16. IT, Internet, Software & Services
  17. Professional Services
  18. Media & Advertising
  19. Business Services & Supplies
  20. Real Estate
  21. Government Services
  22. Education
  23. Healthcare & Social
  24. Retail & Wholesale
  25. Clothing, Shoes, Sports Equipment
  26. Restaurant & Food Services
  27. Travel & Leisure

To facilitate evaluations of each respondent’s employer and other employers in the same industry, Statista conducted the survey anonymously through online access panels. The panels are provided by professional survey companies and often used in consumer research to contact specific target groups. Participants register and are invited to take part in surveys for which they qualify, according to their socio-demographic data. The employer study invited people with diverse socio-demographic backgrounds to participate. From there, a representative sample of employees working part-time or full-time for large companies in Singapore was generated.

Eligible employees were also invited via The Straits Times’ website to be participants during the field phase (September to the beginning of November 2025) of the study, and thousands were directed to complete the online survey on Statista’s platform.

In total, more than 600,000 recommendations were evaluated. The evaluation was based on two distinct criteria:

Direct recommendations

Respondents were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employer to friends and family. The responses were graded on a scale from zero to 10, where zero means “I wouldn’t recommend my employer under any circumstances” and 10 means “I would definitely recommend my employer”.

Employees were also asked more than 50 questions about work-related topics. They could rate their own employer on various aspects of their job (from salary and work-life balance to potential for development), their work environment (colleagues, superiors and equipment) and the reputation of their employer (in areas such as image and growth). The ratings were measured on a five-point Likert scale and were part of the final score.

Indirect recommendations

Employees were also asked about their willingness to recommend other employers within their industry. Respondents were shown an industry list of pre-researched employers and asked to give an opinion on those that stood out, either positively or negatively. The response options included “would recommend”, “would not recommend” and “no opinion”.

Based on respondents’ evaluations, employers received a total score. This score was calculated from direct and indirect recommendations, with greater weight given to direct recommendations (that is, willingness of the participants to recommend their own employer). If available, employers’ scores from the previous year were also included, with a small weighting. Finally, employers were ranked by their total score. Scores can theoretically reach a maximum of 10 and a minimum of zero.
