Yong Chuan is assistant business editor at The Straits Times. He joined the newsroom as a senior correspondent in 2011 after an 18-year career in the Singapore civil service. His areas of writing include manpower, political and policy issues, law, and the occasional car review. Outside the newsroom, he is the vice-president of the Consumers Association of Singapore, and an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
