Akshita writes about health, well-being, ageing and longevity. She co-led a project on dementia in 2022 that won The Straits Times the overall gold for best news website at the Digital Media Awards Asia. Once a cancer researcher, she also researches migration and maritime security and writes fiction in her spare time. In 2020, she was the co-winner of the Singapore Literature Prize for English fiction.
