Low De Wei speaks to Dr Koh Tieh Yong, associate professor of atmospheric science at Singapore University of Social Sciences, to find out more about these freak events.

Thunderstorms here do not often result in such effects but, last week, farms and nurseries were flattened in the Lim Chu Kang area after it was hit by heavy wind and rain.
