Talks on regional free trade pact

The 16 countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) will present their offers for market opening when they meet in Busan, South Korea, today, with an aim to make "best efforts" towards reaching an agreement by the end of the year, an official said.

The RCEP was first conceived by the 10 members of Asean, but China is becoming increasingly prominent as a backer.


Landscape architecture awards

The 10th Singapore Landscape Architecture Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner takes place tonight. The event acknowledges a selection of landscape architecture projects that shape Singapore's "City in a Garden" vision.

The works will be awarded Outstanding, Gold and Silver awards by a panel comprising members from nine countries.

More than 8,000 delegates from financial institutions, technology partners, regulatory lawmakers and influential figures from around the world are in Singapore for Sibos 2015, a four-day meeting starting today, to discuss trends and challenges - in the areas of payments, securities, cash management, compliance, technology and trade - facing the global financial community.
