WASHINGTON - The four-nation Quad, championed in 2007 by then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, has been revived lately mainly over wariness of China - but it is far from an Indo Pacific version of Nato, analysts say.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met counterparts from the Quad which groups India, the US, Japan and Australia in an informal security dialogue, in Tokyo earlier this month.
