Moon on first state visit to India

South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who is on his first state visit to India, will give a keynote speech at the South Korea-India business forum today.

Mr Moon is expected to hold a summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow.


Parliament sits today

Parliament will sit today and one of the issues to be discussed is the status of the high-speed rail project linking Singapore and Malaysia.

MPs are also expected to discuss how the trade war between the United States and China will affect Singapore.

They will ask about the closure of bicycle-sharing firm oBike, the cost of living, and the salaries for work-permit holders.


BOJ chief to speak at quarterly meet

Bank of Japan (BOJ) governor Haruhiko Kuroda will deliver a speech this morning at a quarterly meeting of the bank's regional branch managers.

The BOJ may cut its price growth forecasts at a policy meeting later this month, given the anaemic Japanese economy.
