Bangladeshi PM to meet Modi today

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is on a four-day visit to India, will hold talks with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi today on a range of issues, which are likely to include combating terrorism.

During the visit, India is set to announce a credit line of US$500 million (S$701 million) to Bangladesh for military supplies.

Basque separatist group to disarm

The Basque separatist group ETA, which waged a bloody campaign for independence from Spain for over half a century, said it will disarm today.

The move stops short of a full disbanding of the organisation which has killed more than 850 people in its quest for an independent state in the mountainous Basque region that incorporates part of northern Spain and south-western France.

Youth forum today on diversity

Religious and racial diversity and xenophobia are issues that have been very much in the news - and they will be discussed today at a forum between youth and Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam. The Roses of Peace Youth Forum at OnePeople.sg in Toa Payoh, to be held at 3pm, is organised by the Government's feedback unit Reach.
