Tide of pollution at Chennai beach

People walking over foamy discharge, caused by pollutants, as it mixed with the surf at Marina beach in Chennai yesterday. Experts told Indian media that the foam could have been produced when heavy rain over the past few days mixed with untreated sewage flowing in through a river. Some reports said toxic chemicals were discharged into the river by factories and hospitals.
