Supporters of Karachi's newly elected mayor Waseem Akhter rallying to demand his release from prison in Pakistan's largest city on Sunday. Akhter has been discharging his mayoral duties from a jail cell, where he has been held for inciting riots in 2007 and allegedly providing medical care to terrorists. He is the first person in Pakistan to have won a mayoral election from prison with a comfortable margin. The polls were held last month.
