Kabul could be overrun in 90 days

A new US intelligence assessment suggests the Taleban could isolate Kabul in the next 30 days and overrun the Afghan capital within 90 days, as another city - the northern provincial capital of Faizabad in Badakhshan province - was captured yesterday.
Taleban forces now control 65 per cent of Afghanistan and have taken or threatened to take 11 provincial capitals, said a European Union official.
